Week 5

God continues to show his faithfulness to provide for his children even when the circumstances appear bleak.

On Day 1 we had several students that were interested in participating in the mural project. However, many of the students were involved with numerous recreational activities. Therefore, at the end of Day 1 we only had three students working on Panel B of the mural.

Things began to look brighter on Day 2. More students heard about the mural and wanted to help. At the beginning of Day 2 we had a group of students painting Panel B and another group of students sketching out the design for Panel A in the office.

The group that worked on Panel A depicted Psalm 103:13 which states,
"As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassio on those who fear him;"

The group that worked on Panel B depicted Psalm 103:14 which states,
"for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust."

Later that afternoon, the group of students sketching in the office finalized their design and came to the mural to begin painting. About twenty minutes after they began, it started to sprinkle which then lead to a strong and steady rainshower for the afternoon.

Now I realize that we desperately need rain, but I would personally prefer if it did not rain from 1:30-4:30 each day.

I was a little nervous going into Day 3 because Panel A did not have any paint on it and Panel B did not have many artists working on it. However, God provided amazing student artists for Week 5 that are ridiculously talented and fast painters.

Both teams finished their panels on Day 4 and they look great!
